Fruity was having a really bad day. You see he had a conjunctival flap surgery for a descemetocele ulcer on his eye for the second time! If the descemetocele had burst (it’s basically a hole on his cornea so thin it barely keeps the fluid inside his eye), his eye would of collapsed and spilled out. One vet tried to cut his eye with a scalpel to encourage regrowth but that did not go too well. Thanks to Dr. Miller at Advanced Animal Eye Care in Memphis for saving Fruitys’ eye. We had to have it redone in less than 3 days due to Fruity rubbing the first one off with his traditional E-Collar, hence the Magnum Steroid version of E-Collar for him second go round. If you have a dog who needs to wear an E-collar but the traditional one won’t work, you might want to consider this version of a small laundry basket with hole cut in bottom, then laced to an inflatable donut E-Collar attached at his neck. This is the only thing that kept him from destroying his eye. Yes, he had to wear it 24 hours a day for 2 weeks, ugh!

Do you remember Gabriella aka Gabby? She is the German Shepherd dog we picked up in the alley in downtown Little Rock with her 3 remaining puppies. She had a huge abscess on her neck, about the size of a cantaloupe…

and now she’s enjoying the good life with her new adoptive family….

and she’s even enrolled in good doggie girl classes….
